French Green MEP Majdouline Sbai tells Radio Schuman that European companies should not abandon their values or practices in response to demands from the US administration to remove diversity measures.
Sbai’s comments were in response to letters from the US administration to European embassies, urging them to eliminate diversity, equity, and inclusion measures to maintain contracts in the US.
This push by the Trump administration aims to dismantle DEI policies in various areas, including federal agencies, contractors, the private sector, universities, and international grant recipients.
France and Belgium have been among the strongest opponents to this move, with Belgian Deputy Prime Minister Jan Jambon rejecting US interference and asserting Europe’s commitment to non-discrimination.
Radio Schuman also covers the upcoming EU-Central Asia summit in Samarkand and highlights top European companies for nervous travelers.
