Johnny Depp’s latest art collection, titled “Let the Light In,” features two intimate watercolours from the early 2000s. Created when Depp was living at Le Hameau, his South of France estate with then-partner Vanessa Paradis and their children Lily-Rose and Jack, the collection showcases a personal connection to the artists’ life.
The first piece, “A Rose Is a Rose, Is a Rose,” is a delicate painting symbolizing his daughter Lily-Rose. According to Castle Fine Art’s spokesperson Frankie Washington, Depp would paint roses for his loved ones on special occasions like Valentine’s Day and birthdays, instead of giving them actual flowers.
The second artwork, titled “Add the Light,” is a self-portrait of the actor. Inspired by advice from fellow artists to paint the light and let everything else fall away, Washington describes it as encapsulating a time when Depp was “super happy” surrounded by loved ones.
Washington emphasizes that all of Depp’s art is personal, but these two pieces stand out as particularly significant. Both paintings are currently available for sale on Castle Fine Art’s official website.
