President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who took office in 2022 and found himself embroiled in a contentious political feud with his predecessor Duterte, has chosen not to participate in the international court’s proceedings. However, the current administration has stated that they are willing to collaborate with the ICC should it request international law enforcement agencies to apprehend Duterte.
