Israeli authorities grant approval for contentious West Bank settlement expansion despite ongoing military operation in Gaza City

On Wednesday, Israel granted its final approval to a highly disputed settlement initiative within the captured West Bank, which is projected to fundamentally bifurcate the occupied region. At the same time, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced the initial phase of its intended operation to capture Gaza City.
