As the post-Assad regime in Syria engages with European donors in Brussels, pressing concerns regarding its operational conduct will come to the forefront. The EU has pledged support for Syria’s new interim government, aiming for a democratic transition and has lifted various sanctions previously imposed on the Assad regime. However, a recent surge of retaliatory killings, reportedly resulting in 1500 deaths, raises doubts about the EU’s approach towards the new government. These issues will be examined at the Syria summit in Brussels. A recent resolution from MEPs also calls on Syria’s new leadership to sever ties with Tehran and Moscow, advocating for the dismissal of Russia’s military presence from the country. To address these developments and the EU’s stance on them, Euronews correspondent Mared Jones joins Radio Schuman for a discussion. Additionally, the podcast explores the adoption and perceptions of artificial intelligence among EU employees. “Radio Schuman” is presented and produced by Maïa de la Baume, edited by David Brodheim, with music by Alexandre Jas.
