Islamic extremist newspaper advocates for murdering Trump

The Revolutionary Guard paper of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei (The Kayhan newspaper) advocated for an assassination attempt on the sitting U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a translated article. The publication states that “he is way out of line!” and calls for bullets to “shoot that empty skull of his” in retaliation for the U.S. killing of top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. Trump had ordered the strike, which the U.S. administration claimed Soleimani was responsible for the deaths of over 600 American military personnel.

This is not the first time Iran has threatened President Trump or former officials from his administration; they have repeatedly pledged revenge assassinations. It was earlier reported by Fox News that the Justice Department had prevented an Iranian plot to kill Trump just before the November election.

After Trump declared that he would initiate bombing strikes on Iran if Iran didn’t dismantle its nuclear weapons program, Kayhan accused him of making threats. They also criticized Trump’s policies, claiming they harmed the U.S. economy and boosted resignations and dismissals of important officials in the military and CIA. Despite the provocative rhetoric, a Fox News Digital report suggests that they could be strategizing to unite global opinion against Trump, reminiscent of the attempted assassination of Salman Rushdie.
