South Korean leader dismissed following the imposition of military rule.

The Constitutional Court of South Korea has removed impeached President Yoon Suk Yeol from office on Friday, four months after his declaration of martial law caused unrest in the East Asian country. The court’s verdict came over three months after the opposition-controlled National Assembly voted to impeach him. South Korea’s Prime Minister Han Duck-Soo has been reinstated as acting President following the overturning of Yoon’s impeachment. The country is now required to hold a national election within two months to elect a new president. Yoon’s brief martial law declaration in December lasted only six hours before being rejected by the liberal opposition-controlled legislature.
