The U.K Labour government is enforcing a ban on ninja swords this coming August in their continued efforts to combat knife crime. Prime Minister Keir Starmer made the announcement, following the tragic 2022 murder of 16-year-old Ronan Kanda who was killed by a ninja sword near his home. Owners of these weapons have been advised to surrender them before the law takes effect. Those caught possessing, selling, making, or importing ninja swords face up to six months in prison, with this penalty set to increase to two years. Starmer’s predecessor, Home Secretary Yvette Cooper, emphasized the severity of knife crime in the UK and the need for urgent action to prevent further violence.
