Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has called for more details about peace proposals following President Donald Trump’s call with Russia’s Vladimir Putin. Zelenskyy warned that the recognition of Ukrainian temporarily occupied territories as Russian is a “red line” for Ukraine. He also announced plans to speak with Trump after the president discussed the call with Putin on Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”
Zelenskyy added that despite the United States and Russia agreeing to a ceasefire against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, attacks continue to strike these targets. Russia has launched drone strikes on civilian areas that damaged a hospital.
The White House stated that negotiations on an energy and infrastructure ceasefire and technical discussions on the implementation of a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea will begin immediately in the Middle East. Putin also mentioned a complete cessation of military aid to Ukraine as a condition for ending the war, while Trump stated that they did not discuss aid during the call.
