On Monday, Iran voiced concerns to the United Nations Security Council regarding “reckless and belligerent” comments made by US President Donald Trump. In a speech on Sunday, Trump warned Iran of potential military strikes and additional tariffs should they fail to reach an agreement with the US regarding their nuclear program. An adviser to Iran’s supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, responded by stating that Iran would be required to develop a nuclear weapon in the event of an attack by the US or their allies.
