On Thursday, Syria’s acting President Ahmed al-Sharaa vowed to bring justice following violent confrontations in Sweida – a city predominantly populated by Druze people. He committed to holding accountable those responsible for the abuses and also declared that the responsibility for ensuring security would be passed on to the local government.
