The far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD) is the second most popular party in Germany with at least 19.5 percent of the vote, based on exit polls. France24 Europe Editor Armen Georgian, who was reporting live from Berlin, observed that a significant number of demonstrations against the AfD took place during the last hour of voting.
