Individuals who suffered during the Apartheid era are taking legal action against the South African government, seeking compensation for its failure to prosecute individuals accused of committing Apartheid crimes. The Truth and Reconciliation Commission recommended that over 300 suspects be examined for the possibility of prosecution; however, the majority of these cases were never pursued.
