The European Space Agency now says that the 2024 YR4 asteroid has only a 1 in 100,000 chance of hitting Earth. This is much lower than NASA’s estimate of 3.1 percent last week. Scientists will still observe the asteroid’s path in the future. They believe it will go by Earth in December 2023.
