Florida is on track to become the first state in the US to abolish all mandatory childhood vaccine requirements.

Florida has decided to eliminate vaccine mandates, making it the first state in the US to terminate long-existing requirements that were originally put in place to protect schoolchildren and adults from infectious diseases. State Surgeon General Joseph Ladapo made the announcement on Wednesday, condemning the current rules as an “immoral” infringement upon parental rights, which limit families’ ability to make their own health decisions.
