A former French President, Nicolas Sarkozy, may be sentenced to even more prison time alongside a large fine for his supposed acceptance of political contributions from the government of the now-deceased Libyan leader, Muammar Gaddafi. The prosecutors have announced their intention to seek a seven-year jail term and a penalty of €300,000. As of now, Sarkozy, who is serving a one-year term following a different trial, has consistently contested these allegations.
