The situation in Haiti is currently described as an “unprecedented humanitarian crisis” with the population teetering on the edge of starvation, according to the charity organization ActionAid. They claim that nine out of ten individuals in the country go through their entire day without having anything to eat. Furthermore, the organization states that 99 percent of all families in Haiti experience a lack of meals, sometimes for an extended period of time. In our special segment, In Perspective, we had the opportunity to speak with Angeline Annesteus, the Haiti country director for ActionAid, directly from the capital city, Port-au-Prince.
