On Saturday, Israel’s opposition leader, Yair Lapid, urged a nationwide strike in response to Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu’s potential disobedience to a Supreme Court ruling regarding the dismissal of the country’s internal security chief. Speaking to a large crowd of protesters in central Tel Aviv, Lapid warned that should the government ignore the court’s decision, it would set itself outside the boundaries of the law.
