Kremlin plans to engage in direct negotiations with Ukraine on May 15 according to Putin’s desire.

Following three years of conflict, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on Sunday his proposal for “direct negotiations” with Ukraine to take place in Istanbul next week on Thursday, May 15. This announcement follows closely on the heels of Kyiv and European leaders’ calls for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire starting on Monday.
