LA Imposes Curfew Amid Trump’s 'Invasion’ Rhetoric and Widening Protests

Mayor Karen Bass on Tuesday announced a nighttime curfew in Los Angeles in response to protests against immigration enforcement raids, which Donald Trump had referred to as a “foreign invasion” of the US. Earlier that day, California Governor Gavin Newsom initiated legal measures against Trump’s decision to deploy National Guard troops and Marines in an attempt to suppress the protests.
