Macron declares additional $2 billion in France’s support for Ukraine.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced Wednesday that France is contributing an additional $2 billion in aid to Ukraine. This announcement comes before European leaders meet in Paris on Thursday to deliberate potential security guarantees for Ukraine in case of a ceasefire with Russia. Arriving in Paris on Wednesday, Zelensky expressed hope for US support of Ukraine’s interests in an interview with French media. Nonetheless, the 30 European countries attending the summit are looking to each other to design a plan for enduring peace in Ukraine.
