A large-scale protest orchestrated by Turkey’s principal opposition party, the Republican People’s Party (CHP), commenced in Istanbul on Saturday. Despite continuous demonstrations by student groups following the arrest of Istanbul Mayor Ekrem Imamoglu on March 19, this marks the first significant demonstration since Tuesday.
