The United Nations human rights office has reported that Myanmar’s military is restricting humanitarian aid in many areas affected by earthquakes. According to Ravina Shamdasani, a spokesperson for the U.N. Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights, a dire humanitarian crisis exists in these earthquake-affected regions, particularly in areas beyond the military’s control.
