A fire of considerable size engulfed a nightclub in the eastern Macedonian town of Kocani on the early hours of March 16th, resulting in the deaths of at least 59 individuals and leaving over 100 injured, according to the authorities.

The fire began at approximately 2:35 a.m. during a performance by a local pop music group at the Pulse nightclub, as reported by Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski to the press.
