North Korea, as announced by Kim Jong Un’s sister on Monday, has expressed no interest in dialogue with South Korea. President Lee Jae Myung’s attempts at peace and reconciliation, initiated after his election in June, have been rebuffed. Despite Lee’s efforts to ease tensions, including the cessation of loudspeaker propaganda across the border in response to North Korean balloon provocations, the North remains opposed to any form of dialogue.
