Rwanda is planning a tour of its mines in response to allegations of illicit exploitation in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC). At the invitation of the Rwanda Mines Board, France24 correspondent Juliette Montilly is visiting a cassiterite mine located near Kigali, the Rwandan capital. The aim of this initiative is to shed light on Rwanda’s mining operations, as the nation often confronts claims of unlawfully utilizing the natural resources of its neighboring country, the DRC.
