Sudan conflict marks second anniversary

The civil war in Sudan, which began on April 15th when the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces targeted the Sudanese army, has tragically resulted in tens of thousands of deaths, millions of people displaced, and created one of the world’s most severe humanitarian crises.

In the two years that have passed since the start of the conflict, various foreign countries have been implicated in providing arms to fuel the war. Efforts to broker a ceasefire have been met with repeated setbacks and both sides of the conflict have faced accusations of committing war crimes. With no imminent path to peace on the horizon, the destructive and devastating nature of the Sudanese civil war remains an ongoing tragedy.
