Taiwan deployed its naval and air forces on Wednesday to track Chinese “live-fire” military drills occurring 40 nautical miles (74 kilometers) off the southern coast of the island. According to a statement released by Taiwan’s military, China has deliberately breached international norms by unilaterally establishing a drill zone in such proximity to the island.
