The head of Niger’s military junta, Abdourahamane Tani, was officially inaugurated as the nation’s transitional president on Wednesday. A high-ranking government official has announced that Tani will serve as the country’s leader for a “flexible” five-year period, which will culminate in the restoration of constitutional rule.
