However, the Yale University Humanitarian Research Lab, which is monitoring the missing children, has faced a setback as they lost vital US government funding when Trump implemented drastic reductions in foreign aid. The lab, now in need of donations to continue its work, reports that over 19,000 children have been transported to Russia, with a mere 1,236 having been returned.
