French President Macron and Ukrainian President Zelensky Address Press in Paris
Prior to a security meeting on Ukraine, French President Emmanuel Macron and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky held a press conference in Paris. The meeting is set to bring together 30 European leaders in their efforts to establish security guarantees for Ukraine as part of a potential US-brokered truce. President Macron announced that France will provide an additional $2 billion in aid to Ukraine and expressed concerns regarding Russia’s desire for war. President Zelensky stated that he anticipates strong decisions from the upcoming meeting and emphasized the importance of maintaining unity and not easing pressure on Russia. “Now is definitely not the time to reduce pressure on Russia or weaken our unity for the sake of peace,” Zelensky said.
