Washington will revoke all visas for individuals holding South Sudanese passports and ban new arrivals due to South Sudan’s refusal to accept the return of its citizens who have been repatriated. Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced this decision on Saturday. The move comes amid growing concerns in Africa that the civil war, which resulted in the deaths of 400,000 people between 2013 and 2018, may resurface.
