Hard evidence appears to undermine Israeli assertions that Palestinian medical vehicle drivers did not display emergency markers while troops fired upon them in southern Gaza. In an incident that occurred last month, 15 Palestinian medical staff fell victim to Israeli forces. Among these were teams from the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS), United Nations staff, and Gaza Civil Defence, operating ambulances, UN vehicles, and firefighting equipment. On April 6th, the Israeli military admitted to errors on the part of their soldiers in these fatal encounters. Journalists Charlotte Hughes and Olivier Faissolle explore the details of this controversy.
