On March 15th, over 1,300 Voice of America employees were sent home on leave as financial support for two American news services that broadcast to areas with restrictive governments came to an end. This decision was made one day after President Donald Trump issued an order to significantly cut the funding for the media organization’s parent agency as well as six other federal agencies.
