A new video titled ‘Which Way Do I Go?’ tells the story of an Altadena resident named Roosevelt Banks, who lost his home in the Eaton Fire and is still waiting for answers from his insurer nearly two months later. He is currently living week to week in hotels and has nowhere else to go. He was able to save only a few belongings, including his mother’s ashes and portraits of his children. The community in Altadena is also suffering, with many people displaced or without permanent homes. Banks is currently receiving financial assistance from FEMA for a week-long stay in a hotel, but he is still trying to get in touch with his insurance company to see if he will be covered for the full amount of his policy. If not, he fears that he will be forced to go back to living in his van. The video is part of a series of recent episodes from the “Americas” playlist.
