Manila Mayor Resumes Duty Amidst Piles of Garbage Accumulation

The mayor of the Philippines’ capital city, Francisco Domagoso, has declared a state of emergency. This decision comes as a result of there being large amounts of garbage left uncollected. The contractors responsible for collecting the waste have not been paid and have therefore not been doing their job.
