British American online influencers Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan Tate, who were under criminal investigation in Romania, departed for the United States on Thursday, as reported by an individual knowledgeable about the situation. They boarded a flight early Thursday morning, as disclosed by the source, who wished to remain anonymous due to the sensitivity of the case. The State Department did not offer an immediate response to requests for comment.
The Tate brothers have been entangled in a prolonged legal dispute with Romanian prosecutors, who initially accused them of human trafficking and money laundering. Despite consistently denying these charges, the brothers managed to overturn their initial indictment. However, prosecutors have since indicated that they are examining further allegations against the pair, encompassing similar accusations.
Andrew Tate is also under criminal investigation in Britain for sexual misconduct. In December, a Bucharest court ruled that both brothers must be extradited to the UK once their cases in Romania are resolved.
Although they were no longer under house arrest, the brothers stayed in Romania under judicial supervision. Their lawyer had previously labeled them as “political hostages.” They have now departed for the United States.
Please note that this is ongoing reporting.
