Before the war, Ramadan was a joyful time in Gaza, with dawn-to-dusk fasting attracting large crowds to mosques and streets adorned with colorful lanterns. However, the devastating effects of the 15-month war have left Palestinians facing a very different reality during this season. Many Palestinians, like Maisa Arafa, who lost her brother in the war, struggle to find celebration in a season that was once filled with happiness. Despite the ongoing hardships, some relief has been provided through the delivery of food and other supplies to the region. Still, the scars of war remain as many people continue to cope with displacement and the loss of loved ones.
