“Emilia Pérez,” a movie about a transgender Mexican cartel leader reconciling with her past, is the most-nominated film at this year’s Academy Awards but has been widely criticized in Mexico for its depiction of the country and its portrays of cartel violence and the lack of Mexicans involved in its production.
