Toronto Pub Shooting Leaves Multiple Injured

Three masked men carrying handguns and an assault rifle entered a pub in Toronto on Friday night. They fired randomly, injuring 12 people, according to the police.

Paul MacIntyre, a police superintendent, stated during a news conference that six people were hospitalized with gunshot wounds.

No fatalities were reported, which MacIntyre attributed to “divine grace.” The perpetrators are still at large.

Superintendent MacIntire described the scene as a typical night at a neighborhood pub, with people socializing and enjoying their drinks. The event marked the opening night of the Piper Arms pub.

Around 10:40 p.m., the three men stormed the pub and started firing at the crowd, as seen on surveillance footage.

Patrons either took cover or fell to the floor. Some fled to the basement to hide.

The suspects then left in a vehicle.

Upon arrival, police found some people on the floor and others still seated, shot where they stood.

The crime scene was described as “eerie,” with abandoned food, shoes, handbags, shattered glass, and blood on the floor.

Calls to the Piper Arms on Saturday went unanswered.

The police have no information on the suspects’ whereabouts or their motives.

When asked if the suspects pose a danger to the public, MacIntyre said it was “hard to say ‘no’,” expressing concern over the brazen nature of the violence.

Mayor Olivia Chow called it “an early and ongoing investigation” in a social media post, stating she was “deeply troubled” by the shooting.

She added, “My thoughts are with the victims and their families.”
