Police have reported the tragic death of a British woman, victim of a stabbing incident in the Cambodian capital, Phnom Penh. Identified as 34-year-old Jessica Cariad Hopkins, she was found deceased with multiple stab wounds in proximity to a frequently visited park within the capital’s Chamkarmon district on Friday.
A 33-year-old woman, also suspected to be a foreigner, was apprehended in relation to the fatal stabbing on Saturday afternoon. According to authorities, the incident was a result of a complicated love triangle.
The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office condemns this act and extends support to the bereaved family, currently coordinating efforts with local authorities to address this unfortunate event.
