Campbell Scott: Scottish Man’s Murder in Kenya Prompts Confident Pursuit by Police

Police are “confident” that they will apprehend the person responsible for the murder of a Scottish businessman, whose body was found in a sack of pineapples in Kenya. Campbell Scott, believed to be from Dunfermline in Fife, was last seen attending a conference at the JW Marriot Hotel in Nairobi on February 16. Several days later, his body was discovered in a sack of pineapples in a forest approximately 66 miles southeast of the city. His death is being treated as murder, and two individuals have been arrested as part of the ongoing investigation. A National Police Service spokesperson described the crime as “heinous.” The case is being investigated by the homicide unit of Kenya’s Directorate of Criminal Investigations. According to a local administrator, Mr. Scott’s hands were tied behind his back, suggesting that he had been tortured. Mr. Scott was a senior director at credit scoring firm Fico. The company expressed their devastation over his death and recalled his contributions to their business. The Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office is providing support to Mr. Scott’s family and is in contact with the local authorities in Kenya.
