Harry, the Prince, Meets with War-Affected Individuals in Ukraine | United Kingdom News

Prince Harry, as part of his ongoing work with wounded veterans, made a visit to Ukraine to support war victims, according to a spokesperson. The Duke of Sussex, who was recently in central London for a Court of Appeal hearing concerning his security arrangements in the UK, traveled to Lviv in western Ukraine. This visit, which took place on Thursday, went unannounced until after his departure. Lviv, known for frequent Russian missile strikes, is home to the Superhumans Center, an orthopaedic clinic that offers free services, including prosthetics, reconstructive surgery, and psychological support, to both military personnel and civilians injured in the conflict. Accompanied by members of his Invictus Games Foundation, including veterans who have experienced similar rehabilitation, Harry met with patients and medical professionals. The visit was initiated by an invitation from the center’s CEO, Olga Rudneva, extended both a year ago and again at the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025. Harry also engaged with members of the Ukrainian Invictus community and met with Ukraine’s minister of veterans affairs, Natalia Kalmykova. During his visit, Harry focused on observing firsthand the support provided by the center amidst ongoing hostilities. The Duke, who served in Afghanistan, continues to display a strong commitment to helping wounded soldiers, a cause highlighted by his establishment of the Invictus Games in 2014, akin to the Paralympics, for injured veterans. Sophie, the Duchess of Edinburgh, visited Ukraine’s capital, Kyiv, in a similar unannounced visit last year, making Harry the second member of the Royal Family to visit Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in February 2022.
