Heavy Flooding in Gran Canaria Sends Vehicles Surging into the Ocean | International News

Gran Canaria’s airport has reopened after being closed due to flash flooding, preventing planes from taking off and landing.
Heavy rain caused significant disruption across the island, with cars being washed off shore.
The town of Telde faced severe stormy conditions, and several people needed to be rescued from their vehicles.

Spain’s meteorological agency has issued dozens of amber and yellow alerts for heavy rain across the rest of the country.
Some areas of Valencia may experience up to 100mm of rain in just 12 hours, with a total of over 400mm between Monday and Thursday.

Those in severely affected areas are advised to avoid driving unless absolutely necessary and to exercise caution near rivers and ravines.

Last week, two French nationals and their dogs, trapped inside their caravan, required rescue from a beach in Almeria.
They showed signs of hypothermia and disorientation and were taken to the hospital urgently.
