An investigation has been launched into the death of a well-known online streamer, Raphael Graven, who was found deceased in Contes, near Nice, on Sunday night. The Frenchman, known online as Jean Pormanove, was notorious for participating in videos that involved him suffering violence and humiliation alongside colleagues. His enduring live stream on the Kick platform had reportedly been running for 10 days, causing concern among viewers who noticed him lying unresponsive on a mattress.
The investigation into Graven’s death finds digital technology Minister Clara Chappaz emphasizing that online platforms are legally responsible for curbing the spread of illicit content. She described the situation as “horrifying” and called for platforms to take serious responsibility in regulating content to protect children. Sky News has reached out to the Nice prosecutor’s office and Kick for further comment.
