The Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, has put forth Donald Trump as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. The announcement was made during a dinner at the White House, where the US President expressed his satisfaction with the nomination.
Addressing the media, Netanyahu stated that both the United States and Israel are collaborating with other countries to improve the prospects for Palestinians. According to him, individuals in Gaza will have the option to remain if they wish, but if they prefer to leave, they should have the freedom to do so.
Indirect negotiations are currently under way with Hamas in order to achieve a 60-day ceasefire in Gaza, which would allow for the potential release of Israeli hostages. Mr. Trump has conveyed his hopes that the agreement can be reached this week.
