A man found dismembered in his cellar has had his mother and girlfriend confess to the killing.
The discovery of Alessandro Venier’s remains took place in Gemona del Friuli, northeastern Italy, last Thursday.
Local news service, TG24, reports that the women are in admission of their crime.
The 35-year-old victim was drugged prior to the murder, and then his body was placed in a bin and covered with quicklime, as per La Repubblica.
Reports suggest that the police were alerted to the property at around 10:30 am by one of the suspects.
It is believed that the victim was killed a few days prior to the discovery.
Mr. Venier had a baby daughter with his Colombian partner, aged 30, and his mother was a retired, well-known hospital nurse, as reported by Corriere Della Sera.

Mayor of Gemona del Friuli, Roberto Revelant, labelled the event as “shocking news” on Facebook.
He stated that it’s a “devastating incident” and that the community is standing by the six-month-old daughter to help her rebuild her life.
“All of Gemona rallies around her. We’re providing support through social services to guarantee her safety and a better future,” he mentioned.
At this point, the motive remains ambiguous, and the mayor strongly recommended avoiding speculation.
