Liverpool forward Mo Salah has expressed his disapproval towards UEFA for not disclosing the circumstances of Suleiman al Obeid’s death. Known as “Palestinian Pele,” al Obeid was a 41-year-old footballer who was killed in an alleged “Israeli airstrike targeting civilians” while awaiting humanitarian aid in the southern Gaza Strip.
On X, UEFA paid tribute to the former national team member, describing him as “a talent who gave hope to countless children, even in the darkest of times.”
Salah, who is an Egyptian forward and devout Muslim, questioned UEFA, asking them to provide more information on how, where, and why al Obeid died.
UEFA informed Sky Sports that they would not comment on Salah’s statement.
