Two Balloon Collisions in Turkey Result in One Fatality and Numerous Injuries

In Turkey’s Aksaray province, near the Ihlara Valley, a tragic incident occurred when two hot air balloons crashed, resulting in one fatality and 19 injuries.

The cause of this accident in central Turkey, where hot air balloon rides are a sought-after tourist activity, has not been determined yet.

This region is famous for its “fairy chimneys,” tall rock formations in Cappadocia that have been sculpted by natural erosion over thousands of years and are recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Video footage from the scene captures the deflated balloon with its passenger basket tipped on its side, while emergency services are seen attending to the wounded individuals nearby.
