Ukraine’s military reports eight fatalities in a Russian strike on a civilian vehicle | Global Affairs

In a tragic incident in Ukraine’s Sumy region, a Russian strike on a civilian bus has resulted in eight fatalities and five injuries, according to Ukrainian military reports.

“Emergency medical responders and rescue teams have been dispatched to the location immediately,” stated Ihor Tkachenko, Sumy’s military administration head, on Telegram.

This incident follows closely on the heels of the first direct peace negotiations between Russia and Ukraine in three years.
